Baby Watch

Just getting started and trying to figure this out. I love watching other people's blogs, so I thought it might be a good way for me to remember what's going on throughout the rest of my pregnancy (since I pretty much can't remember how to tie my shoes anymore)! Also, I'll need a place to really brag about baby Frederes, right? :)

Right now I am 32, almost 33 weeks pregnant. I really can't complain at all! I've had a very easy pregnancy. Was a little sick to begin with, and have been tired, but other than that I have felt great. So far I've put on 19 lbs, and am hoping to keep that under 25-30 total.

Baby Frederes has been very active lately, and we can tell he/she is getting stronger every day. How fun! I think the baby can really tell when it is Jamie touching my stomach, because it almost always reacts, whereas everybody else pretty much gets complete silence. :) I think baby definitely knows daddy's voice! Obviously, rather than having a girl or a boy, we are having a surprise (given my lack of pronouns).

Jamie and I are currently in our childbirth classes. I leave each one either excited, or scared to death depending on the day. This week we toured the birth center, which was great, and discussed "vaginal interventions" - great terminology. It sounds like something you would learn about it in much different class. I'm now officially terrified of the episiotomy, but feel much better about how pain medications are administered. The epidural rate is apparently 95% in Kansas City, so I guess that means that we should have a very experienced anesthesiologist!

As far as our first baby goes (Taco John's), things have been extremely busy! This is our busiest time of the year, so we have to really take advantage of it and work hard to maximize the potential. I feel like I really haven't stopped over the past month! Good news, we've had four catering events in two weeks, which is great exposure for us. Now if we can just retain some employees!

That seems like enough to get started, so goodbye for now, and thanks for visiting!
